WhatsApp template: smart TV and streaming guide

Smart TV with streaming accounts is one of the most appreciated amenities, but also generates the most confusion: guests who can't access Netflix, host accounts logged out, multiple remotes. A clear template avoids 80% of requests. Here three variants: smart TV with host account, dedicated guest account, Chromecast/Apple TV system.

When to send

When to send: in reply to TV/Netflix questions from guests. For business apartments with central living room TV, consider including in check-in message.

3 ready-to-copy templates

Three tone variants. Pick the closest match to your style, or use them as a baseline to personalise.

Placeholders like {{guest_name}} are intentionally left visible — replace them with your data before sending.

1Smart TV with host account

Hi {{guest_name}}, smart TV instructions.

📺 Main remote: the one with Samsung/LG logo. If you use another, put it in the drawer and use only this one.

▶️ For Netflix:
1. Press Smart Hub / Home button (house icon)
2. Select Netflix icon
3. Account is already logged in — just hit play

🎬 Same procedure for: Prime Video, Disney+, YouTube.

⚠️ Important: do NOT log out from Netflix/Prime account. If you do, you'll have to wait for reactivation (24 hours). To exit the app, press Home button.

If the account hits 'too many devices connected', message me: I'll free a slot in 5 minutes.

📺 The TV also has traditional channels — press 'Source' or 'Input' to switch to broadcast TV.

2Dedicated guest account

Hi {{guest_name}}, on the TV you'll find a profile dedicated to you.

📺 On the smart TV, go to Netflix → select 'GUESTS' profile.

Login (if requested):
• Email: {{guest_email}}
• Password: {{guest_password}}

This profile is dedicated to apartment guests — doesn't share history with other profiles. Watch what you want without worrying.

🎬 Same procedure for Prime Video and Disney+ if active.

📺 For broadcast TV: remote → 'Source' → choose 'TV'.

3Chromecast / Apple TV

Hi {{guest_name}}, in the apartment we have a {{system}} (Chromecast / Apple TV) connected to the TV.

How it works:
📱 Open Netflix/Prime/YouTube/etc. from YOUR phone using YOUR personal account.
📡 Tap 'cast' icon (Chromecast) or 'AirPlay' (Apple TV) in the app.
📺 Select '{{device_name}}' — content starts on the TV.

👍 Benefits: use your accounts, see your personalized recommendations, finish the show you were watching at home.

⚠️ To use Chromecast/AirPlay you must be connected to apartment Wi-Fi (find in check-in message).

🎮 For traditional TV channels: TV remote → Source button → 'TV'. You'll then need to go back to HDMI to reuse Chromecast/AirPlay.

Practical tips

  • 1Investing in a dedicated guest account (e.g. Netflix Standard at €13/month) pays for itself: 0 accidental logouts, 0 history loss, 0 guests writing because they're locked out.
  • 2Always hide extra remotes (decoder, soundbar) and leave only the primary visible. Confusing is the #1 source of help requests.
  • 3If you have a non-recent smart TV (>5 years old), consider a Chromecast with Google TV (€40 one-time) — brings all modern apps with familiar interface for anyone.

Frequently asked questions

Guest accidentally changed the TV language: what do I reply?+

Standard procedure: remote → Menu/Settings button → language settings. For Samsung it's gear icon → General → Language. If guest can't manage, send screenshot instructions specific to the TV model.

Can I prevent guests from downloading apps on smart TV?+

Yes, in 'Guest Mode' of recent smart TVs (Samsung Hospitality Mode, LG Pro:Centric). Limits downloads and profile changes. For tourist apartments it's an investment that zeroes TV maintenance.

How much does having streaming subscriptions for guests cost?+

Netflix Standard €13 + Prime Video €4.99 = ~€18/month, covers 90% of requests. Disney+ is optional (€5.99) — evaluate only if you have families as typical guests. ROI: 1-2 reviews citing 'streaming ready' changes positioning.
